Laid off contact lens for 2 weeks.
13/5 - Did full eye check. Confirm eye cornea is thin and have to do Epi-Lasik.
20/5 - Stepped in to the surgery room...very nervous and keep asked doctor: "Started?" and told doctor few times: "I am very nervous!". Doctor said: "Everyone in this room also nervous!"
Operation is too fast! It is a bit scary, but, not very pain....
1st day, eye swollen....red, all day tearing
All day with sun glasses on...although at home
2nd day, still swollen....red, all day tearing
24/5 - Another eye check, the contact lens finally removed and a lot comfortable after this.
29/5 - Another eye check, 近视power=0, but still have 散光, so, still not very clear when look at pc. Claimed that need another 2 to 6 weeks time to have vision fully recover.
1 week medical leave. How aunty survive?
~ Sleep, listen to music, listen to TV, chat with few friends (not suppose to look at pc, but too boring!!!)
others that aunty need: 2 type of eye drop, every 2 hours and 4 hours, sun glasses, tissue (finished 1 box of tissue)
The Epi-LASIK Procedure
The steps in Epi-LASIK surgery are:
Anesthetic eye drops are applied to the eye to prevent pain during the surgery.
A hand-held epithelial separator is used to lift an intact, ultra-thin sheet of corneal epithelium.
The epithelial sheet is pushed off to the side of the eye and an excimer laser is used to reshape the underlying cornea tissue.
After the laser treatment, the epithelial sheet is returned to its original position and a bandage contact lens is applied.
A few days later (after the epithelial sheet and new epithelial cells have had a chance to securely cover the treated part of the cornea), the bandage contact lens is removed.
